Scientifically recognised for some time, discovered in Thailand close to the border of Burma aquarists only recently began exploring Pogostemon helferi's potential. Highly decorative and featuring rippled leaves, this foreground plant is aesthetically pleasing. While often appearing as a rosette, the plant is actually quite stocky. If the right conditions are maintained - good to strong light, 25°C temperatures and moderate-hard water - Pogostemon helferi can produce a captivating cushion of vivid, saturated green. In Thailand it is also known as 'Downoi'
