Recently reclassified, the former name H. spec. Araguaia is no longer accurate. This dwarf plant has narrow, red-brown leaves when underwater, and may spread across the substrate to form a carpet. Emerged stems may have tiny, indigo coloured flowers. To ensure optimal growth of this Hygrophila, provide ample light and CO2. This plant is delicate and should be planted in a cluster for best effect. It can also be used to add colour to a Nano Cube with only a few stems.
